NIGEB Scientific and International Relations Office (SIRO)

The Scientific and International Relations Office of the NIGEB was established in 1998 under the supervision of the NIGEB Director General. General purpose of this office is to facilitate scientific relations between the institute and other national and international research centers and universities. To achieve this goal, we invite scientists, hold conferences and workshops, announce international opportunities and provide facilities to expand and accelerate scientific collaborations.

• Coordinating to attract international grants and fellowships:

• Facilitating to absorb research grants from international organizations such as:  IFS, ICGEB, WHO, IDB, TWAS, COMSTECH, EMRO, DAAD, etc.
• Coordinating to hold international workshops and other short-term training courses at the institute
• Providing Iranian students with fellowships opportunities offered by international organizations

• Expanding relations with universities and research centers abroad:

• Evaluating scientific and technological potentials of universities and research centers abroad for possible collaborations
• Signing international MoUs with universities and research centers
• Inviting high-ranking foreign scientist to attend in seminars, courses and research programs
• Reception of foreign researchers applying for short-term training courses at NIGEB
• Coordinating to get visa for foreign students and scientists
